Travel Photography > Pacific Northwest > Astoria, Oregon

The deepwater Port city of Astoria sits near the mouth of the Columbia. Although this small city's port trade has now been overtaken by the ports of Portland and Seattle, the city continues to attract trade.

Astoria is sometimes depicted as a symbol of blue-collar America. Many in the Northwest were surprised when Astoria reinvented itself as a hotspot for creative restaurants, a flourishing art scene, and modern hotels.
