Southern Georgia Map

The Okefenokee Swamp covers six hundred square miles of land in Georgia and Florida.

Okefenokee is a Seminole Indian word which means "Land of the Trembling Earth."

The Okefenokee is the second largest swamp in the United States, behind the Atchafalaya Basin in Southern Louisiana.
