At Notes from the Road, I respect your privacy. This website is a personal travelogue, not a data-collection business, and I keep things simple. Here's what you should know:

Information I Collect

• Basic site traffic data: Like most websites, Notes from the Road uses cookies and Google Analytics to see how many people visit, what pages are popular, and what countries visitors come from.
• Newsletter sign-ups: If you subscribe to my Substack newsletter, your email address is stored securely by Substack. I use it only to send you newsletters you've asked for.
• The contact form: If you write to me through my contact form, it sends me your name, email address, website (if you give one) and your message, along with your IP address and the time you sent it, which help me spot spam. Your message comes to me as an email. It isn't stored on this website, and it doesn't pass through any outside form service.
• Voluntary contact: If you email me directly, I'll see your email address — but I won't share it or use it for anything else.

How I Use This Information

• To understand and improve the site (through traffic patterns).
• To send newsletters if you've chosen to subscribe.
• To reply to you if you write to me. Google Analytics records that the contact form was sent, but never what you wrote or who you are.
